Very cool work; what are the paper scraps that compose the background? I write occasional art reviews for zing magazine in New York, check them out: http://www.zingmagazine.tumblr.com – I’ll pitch to my editor about reviewing your work.
The paperwork in the background is from an abandoned home and hospital in Rockland County, NY called “Letchworth Village” Mostly medical records, family letters, and legal documents. Most of the patients (they called them “consumer”) are deceased. Many of these documents date back as early as the 40s. The hospital was in very poor condition and the treatment of these patients while at their worst was extremely sad. I try to bring back these mostly abandoned people back to life through my art. I would absolutely be honored if you did a review.
My email is rhianglenys@yahoo.com if you would like to contact me directly.
Isn’t this a piece by Urbanwallart or is this just by another name?
This is a piece my husband Ray Ferrer “Urbanwallart” and I did together.
Those cameras! It’s like a flashback to a Polaroid store! Didn’t think anyone still had these anymore. Cool.
I took that photo in a store in NYC that only sells and fixes polaroid cameras. It was amazing.
Dig your work man, and without knowing too much about art I’ll just say that it’s awesome
I’ll be back to check in again,
Judy
Looks like several of us had the same reaction. When I first saw this I said, “I love it!”
I love the shot! hugs Paula xxx
Ah! The first of many radical pieces! This is the only way I ride my bike 🙂
You are creative with a good sense of humor. I like what I see on the first visit to your site. Kudos!
I love this pic, it made me smile!
Working so much with couples, it’s so apparent to me that each of us speaks different “languages”. I like the way you talk.
Love the creases in his suit. Spray paint? Collaboration – who did what? How does that even work (obviously well – but how)? Very cool stuff.
My husband Ray Ferrer did the spray paint/stencil bit and I did the painting/collage background.
Check out his stuff: http://www.facebook.com/urbanwallart
Again, very cool. Commercial applications – very clever IMO.
Thanks visit my blog. Looks like Ray and you couple made in heaven.
Nice reading about you
Thanks for visiting my blog. Be in touch. Browse through the category sections, I feel you may find something of your interest.
I adore your and Ray’s work! I have corresponded with him about commissioning a piece(s). My partner and I have yet to make up our minds as to what path we want your creativity to take us! I hope you make a t-shirt out of “Consent” (The original of which we might buy as well!), it’s GORGEOUS…Thank you so much for follow, BTW…I returned the generous favor!
I have no appreciation for art, so I never know what is good or not, just what I like. I like this one a lot! Makes me think of an older business man, with serious medical issues plaguing him, but when he flies down hill on a bike, all he feels is the joy of the moment! I like it!!
Thank you! That’s exactly what we wanted to come across.
Great! If you did if its something I can figure out it MUST be good! Thanks for sharing!
